Get the crank and waterpump pullie and your set.

What's wrong with getting the P/S and alternator? Are you just saying this for turbo or N/A as well?

To be fair, the longer crankshaft of these BMW engines are more prone to harmonic damage, making these claims ring more true for those engines than ours.

I remember it. I actually argued against the need for it in that thread. This was before I completely understood what I was talking about, and have since changed my stance.

This is maybe the most important factor in all of this.

It's not so much the power you have to worry about, but the revs.

If you want my advice, I'd keep the factory crank pulley and save the money for other things. I'd certainly do the flywheel though. If you've already spent the money, then I guess you might as well toss them on.

^There isn't a rubber damper we can get to put on our UR pulley is there? If so,(which I don't think there is), what would the thickness size have to be for it to have a perfect fit?

He's saying not to under-drive these accessories, just get light weight pulleys for them, not smaller ones. I agree. The only thing you want to under-drive is the water pump unless you want to put up with the related problems.

No, and it's not something you can "put on". It's going to be integral to the pulley itself.

All my friends that I know run UR pulleys along with the fidanza flywheel. I have drove 3 or 4 fully bolted N/A SR20DE's and all of them ran fine. These threads always come up out of the blue at least once a year it seems. All the cars I drove are still pushing it to the limit. My N/A car will have a 4 piece and a 8.8 fly as well. I guess it depends on how much you think into it. Like L4t3ncy said, people have been running the combo for years.

^^ You are talking about NA, this is gonna be T25 powered SR20DET. Honestly I'm more worried about having no traction and it revving so quickly that all the fun will be over before I can even say boo

I agree in Vadim's case, but since he didn't... Some people don't like the flywheel to be light for turbo. I changed mine back to a 16VE flywheel when I installed the turbo. I do aim to put the light crank pulley on when I get ahold of one.

Might as well get rid of those pesky (and heavy!) crankshaft counterweights too.

ahh see lol, here it comes in droves lol.

im not saying everything lighter is better, im speaking from my expierences that the lighter rotation mass ie: flywheels and pulleys make a nice difference.

^I feel the same for turbo, but I hope all goes well for you bro. It's your car, just take care of it. I thought you would pick a VE over a T25. PM what made you go with that choice. If you haven't driven a VE, you need to.

Vadim im in the same boat as you except ill be boosting my DE(or when it come time to rebuild the turbo i just might get a DET), but as for now im using UR pullies and im throwing a fidanza in the mix....

iv also heard the bad things about revving up 2 fast and traction issues, and iv also read that solid mounts and cams make the car viberate like hell. so far my mounts and cams are great, no complaints. so ill also be DE-T with a fidanza and experience it my self
