I was out tinkering around a bit today. I have been so busy with work lately i barely get time to work on it .

I ended up swapping out the VE MAF for an N60 MAF. It seems to be running a bit better now, but still not great. It takes a while to get into boost and it feels like it stumbles a bit until it does boost.

I did a compression test (this was right after a 5 minute drive)
1: 192
2: 202
3: 211
4: 200

Is the difference between 3 and 1 bad? There was actually a 10 minute time from when I did cylinder 1 til I started 2,3 and 4. Would that make a difference?

The other thing was my plugs. I have the same plugs I had in when I had the VE MAF (less than 20 minutes of driving on them) It looks like I WAS running rich, and now maybe a bit lean (because of the color of the strap). Tell me what you think.

Any suggestions?

Did you hold the throttle down when you did the compression test? was the motor warmed up?

whoops... I forgot to hold the throttle open, but yes, the motor was warmed up.

when u do a compression test u need to make sure the throttle is open, get the car to normal operating temp, and there should be a max 10% difference between all cylinders.

what happened with tuning u had some issues, what were they

I'm not sure what could be the cause, but I'll try to describe as best as I can.

When I'm at low RPM, under 2500, and I get on it, it bogs and stumbles a bit, then starts building boost. I also noticed in normal driving conditions, when I am ~40-50% throttle, it stumbles a bit right as boost starts to hit, then it goes pretty smooth.

The main issue here is, I'm not completely roasting these 15" cheapo all-seasons I have on here temporarily. If I start from ~5mph roll in first and stomp it, I get some very minimal spinning, or maybe even just chirping. Nothing in second and so on. It pulls ok, but it seems like it's barely anymore than it was as just an NA VE...

ok it sounds to me like it could be a tunning issue with certain load points as at both those instances you mentioned you would be at the same load.

We have that problem with a DET, with no boost the engine fails, when the engine hits 2 or more psi, runs good.

We put a speaker cable from the engine grounds, to the (-) in the battery, ando the problem is solved
