I have a set of factory DET pistons in good shape , they just need rings I broke one of the rings while cleaning them up

= scratch the part about needing new pistons

Good luck with the build, I'm not sure if I wanna boost my VE yet, but I want to keep my options open, so I'll be watching your thread! good stuff man

Clock the turbo down and run the hot pipe through the bottom so that you don't have to get rid of any of that stuff.

That would be too easy . Just kidding. I live in Pittsburgh. I don't really want my IC piping to be the first thing to bottom. bottoming out is quite common around here (especially with all this damn construction...). I'm not "getting rid of it" though, I'm just gonna move some stuff around.

This is most probably what I will be doing in the near future.

Update as much as you can, and very interested in how it runs after..etc.

Power expectations with 10lbs?

DET/GTiR pistons, DET rods, 8cw crank, in a VE block can probably hold anything a T28 can throw at it.

And being that they can be bought (together) for cheaper than the cost of other pistons, why would most use non-Nissan?

If tuned right a stock motor can take a beating. It can easily support 300 whp with no issues.
