Juice on VVL
Educate this old guy.

No rookie when it comes to power.
Corvettes, G37, old school muscle, etc. past vehicles.

Have a designated b14 track car and sometime drive on street.

VVL with a header and full exhaust. Dynod 175/145. Peppy but not fast.

Considering a couple of 1/4 mi passes.

Typically what's a safe "shot" of dry I can get away with and not worrying about damage??

You'd be fine with a dry 75 shot. I did it on my DE motor for years.

You can't compare what it's supposed to make at the flywheel to what it makes at the wheels.

The ve is as strong as a de so i would imagine that it would hold a 100shot without incedent. I ran a 75 wet shot for a minute and it ran fine. Just dont over rev it on spray.

Add a VET head gasket and some good head studs with a good tune and nothing less then a 100.

I get that. However that's one thing. I want to avoid.
I'm putting a HG in the notorious 22RE Toyota trail rig. Last thing I want to so is pull apart the nissan.

Let me rephrase : what's a safe "shot" of dry on a completely stock vvl ???

175WHP with just a header and exhaust isn't that bad for a VE. W/ a nice intake, ECU tune, N1 cams, youd be in the 190's, while a DE would be lucky to make 135WHP with a header and exhaust.
