use a ignition system that can pull timing if you want to use the stock style computer.

when you wire your nitrous you will wire it to the nitrous retard and it will pull out X amount of timing when the nitrous is triggered, when the nitrous is off it will run w.e timing the ecu is programmed for.

a unit like this i believe plugs into your msd box 6al type

MSD 8676 Timing Retard Module Selector Switch | eBay

digital 6 units should have timing retard built into them

but this is assuming your spraying a really big shot, anything 100 shot or less i wouldnt worry too much about

Bro here's the 5 minute manual fix - Take an automatic center punch and set the car at stock timing. Then make reference mark on the cam cap where it meets the distributor support (top distributor bolt), then mark the distributor directly across from the mark on the cam cap. Then retard your timing to your specifications and make a new mark directly across from the mark on the cam cap and that it's it!!! When you're about to run the unit, line up the dot you set for retard and when you want to go back to stock line it right back up with the original dot. It only takes 5 min to set up the 1st time then 30seconds any time you want to go back and forth on and off the unit.. Digital is cool but in my eyes a waste of money, there's a lot more you can do with that money than save yourself and hour of labor and only takes 30 to do. If you've tuned your car to be more aggressive and have more timing in it when the unit's off, Then set your car on your advanced timing mark. That way it's sooo easy to go back and forth. =) Hope that helps..
