Best Nitrous Kit??
I have det the motor just spun bearings and i don't want to rebuild it thinking about going vvl on spray maybe 120 wet shot. Never been on nitrous before so just wonder involved with this type of set up and whats a good kit to go with??

NOS or ZEX are really good brands, I prefer NOS. A bottle warmer, JWT ecu with a nitrous program would be nice with your setup. JWT is a pretty safe setup since it only sprays at WOT and iirc 3500 or 4000 rpm?

X2 on the nos and zex kit. I'd go with NOS though as long as it has the proper flowing valve.

BTW a VE on bottle is going to be much more sensitive than your previous setup. Much esier to spin a rod bearing or burning valves. Car is going to be more sensitive to cool/hot days and bottle pressure. Nitrous setups are much more dependent on variables than boost. Seeing from you past experiences I'd stay under a 100shot. Make sure it's a wet kit.

Just remember, nitrous is much less forgiving than boost, even if is just a small shot, fuck up once on a smalll shot goodbye VE.

How come your not going to rebuild the DET? HG+Rings+Bearings around 200bucks+labor would come out much less expensive than a VE on smack. Also your DET setup would be much more reliable than the VE+shot.

I love nitrous, has always been my first purchase after buying a car. I just love playing with fire though.

-the new zex kits are not bad-go with the direct port kit if you do get a zex kit
-NOS has been around for a while, JWT and a single solonoid NOS dry kit 100 shot w/370cc injectors, car will move...i ran that set up quite some time ago and i was shockingly surprised how well this performed compared to my NX kit(dry kit HITS much harder than a wet kit as well, and feels like the car is making more power)
-NX kits are by far the best for any wet kit, i had one with a 75shot and the car was basically stock besided a clutch and intake...car went 14.0@101mph on street tires

run a bottle warmer and a guage you can see from in the car, and dummy proof it, full throttle switch with rpm window swtich in line as well...ve on 100 shot will be murder, and i dont car what people say about retarding your timing, just leave it alone you'll be fine

im still debating on if i should rebuild the motor i know its not really a hard fix i could even just slap a de block with the oil lines and i would be fine just but the thought the the motor is died after 4 days of it getting out the shop makes me not deal with the car as a whole. i thought nitrous would be less harsh since its not constant like the turbo but i could be wrong my sprayed anything before and i still want my car to make 350 + i highly doubt ill do it n.a only

Nitrous is harder to play with, not for the faint of heart. Bottle refills are a bitch around here sometimes 35bucks for a 10lb tank depending on the shot and who fills it you might get 5-8 GOOD strong passes on 100shot, and believe me most shops here don't give you your money's worth on the refill. That is the reason why I went from nitrous to boost. Only way I'd go nitrious again is if I were to get my own tank and do the refills meself.

If I was in your place, I'd rebuild the DET with someone reputable. Less expensive and more secure and less headaches.

I will say it again, TAKE THE CAR TO SOMEONE WITH A GOOD REPUTATION WITH SR20 (Andreas, Kevin, Gio). The local guys who are frequent on this forum are very capable and I can gaurantee you they will not let you leave with some half assed shit.

Don't bother with the sr18, that is a bastard ass motor that should never have been produced. It was only produce for insurance reasons across the world. Nothing special about it, only that is very much inferior to the SR20.

Lol, seems like you got a lot of opinions here, bro. if you got the money waste then do it. but i would rebuild the DET and go DET with spray man. good luck on it though with whatever you decide on doing.
