nitrous or boost?
This is the question i face everyday for whats next on my ve. Sure the all motor stuff is cool but im a forced induction type of person that likes to rip tires on the highway. I have done the turbo scene with a pretty good ammount of succes and 400hp was all fine and dandy but useless most of the time. So im debating on what to do at this point. I never ever been in a nitrous car but if I do it Im going direct port with a 100 shot maybe even more. If i go boost im going 18g with other supporting mods of course. I come to you guys to try and guide me in an okay direction.

Direct port 100 shot is more than enough. You will be putting a 100shot in each intake runner instead of spreading one shot through all four runners so it will do ALOT. try that since its the easier way to go and if you arn't happy with that then try turbo. I'm pretty sure you will be happy with the spray though because there is nothing like instant power.

100 Shot in each runner? A direct port kits means you will evenly be distributing the desired shot of nitrous into the motor via one single fogger per runner. Not a 100 shot per runner. That would be a 400 shot of smack.

Morgan, I am a guy who ran nitrous for many years. I for one enjoyed the hell out of it because I had the car set up right with the proper supporting mods and ofcourse a few tricks here and there. Now I will say it gets very expensive and when the bottle is empty is sucks. I for one at the time daily drove my car and ran it during the weekends. So yes it served it purpose and the car kicked ass.

Now with a different mind set and the lack of the "weekend" races I for one am not a fan. Its kinda hard to cruise around in nitrous car VS a boost car. Nitrous IMHO is meant to be used when on a full out run. Not somthing to use just to do a quick heart pumping second gear pull. So in that aspect rolling around in a turbo car gets my vote.

Now I have said it once and I will say it again. If I ever (which I probably will not) built another car to hustle on the streets I would 100% without a fact build a nitrous car. Especially now with the VE motor option available and different progressive set up options. 200+ whp NA + a decent shot of smack and you have yourself a very controlable quick street car if done right.

I'd rather go nitrous, that would be a very fast street car.

The not so great part is that nitrous prices, at least here in my country, have been raising a lot.

I think that anything that keeps me out of blowing couplers, surge and mixture issues works for me, but that's just me

I've used nitrous before, and it's great. But it gets expensive if you used it as much as I did. I usually paid around $30 for a ten pound bottle refill. I think it's around $3 to $4 per pound, depending on who you buy it from. If you decide to go with nitrous, make sure you, or the people filling it chill the bottle before filling. Generally they fill a ten pound bottle to about 7-8 lbs. Chilling the bottle let's a little more in the tank. This generally nets about 8-9 lbs. Just my .02

I say go nitrous just to try it out. You'll always second-guess if you don't.
