Who here still runs nitrous?
Seeing the nitrous forum is pretty dead. Just curious who is still running on nitrous only nowadays. Im thinking of going the nitrous route again with my daily driver and turning it into a play car, seeing how i have more experience in that than turbos. Im thinking of running a dual stage setup, direct port, 75 out of the hole and probably 100-125 up top (3rd gear +), on a internally stock de. I'll see what times i can get out of that before it goes and then it's nitrous powered VE time! Let's see your setups and times!

pretty much most people who are loooking for power go turbo and the naturally aspired guys have pretty high comp which doesnt leave much room for nitrous....i think tho that nitrous is a great power adder for turbo applictions only water/meth injection is much more safe overall as a power adder, that is just my take on the deadness of the nitrous

I think turbos are so common nowadays. Also, i see alot of turbo sr20 guys running similar times to me when i had a 75shot on my car. I think nitrous is easier, quicker and simpler than a turbo setup. What I would like to do is make a high comp. engine and run nitrous. Now that'd be fun, but I dont think it would be very cost efficient to build an 11:1 DE engine when you can install a VE.

I still run it on mine. Mods are in the sig. Take out the pistons and cams and the car ran 7.9 @ 92 mph in the 1/8th mile. In other words stock motor with bolt ons. I'm adding a few small things pretty soon and hope to dyno as well as it's never been on one. I'm hoping for at least mid 7's on the 100 shot and then I'll go up from there and see what happens.

well i think turbos are most cost efficent as far as power to price ratio, esp when you are talking about full bolt on kits netting over 250whp, you can really beat it.

did you not have to run the springs and retainers for the stage 3 cams? ALso, why'd you go with a .3 lower compression piston? Trapping at 92mph in the 1/8 is pretty quick!

Yeah I have the springs and retainers as well. I only went with the lower compression pistons cause they were all I could find at the moment that were STRONG and stock bore. I needed pistons ASAP. I don't mind though. Eventually I'll see just how much nitrous I can pump into it lol.
