Thread: nitrous question... help needed asap!!

i have the nos pro race fogger progressive shot system on my b13... built motor and 11:1 comp... i am only running a 65 shot currently and i am going to take it out tomorrow and get some test runs in it... since i don't have an msd box yet to pull timing as the shot progresses, what are my options to keep it safe?
i was planning on retarding to timing manually through the entire rpm band, but the car just won't run with the timing at 13*... please let me know what you think i should try or what will be safe as i'm planning on going tomorrow to the track... thanks and if it's easier call or text me... thanks again!

If your car won't run with it at 13 somethings wrong. I've driven mine around at 10 alot. It's low on power, but drives fine.

well it runs... it just breaks up really bad...

I guess you need to just drive to the track, retard the timing there, make your passes, and the turn it back up for the drive home.

I really think something isn't right though. Are you sure you're getting good gas?

well i investigated some more and it looks like the crank timing marks were tampered with, i found the proper ones and it is a lot better now... it still is much slower to rev and just a slight breakup under steady throttle between 4-5k... but im hoping the spray will solve both of those problems... and it is getting good fuel, 255 and afpr, just a tad of black smoke because i'm trying to go safe right now... my plan is to literally "test and tune" all day, so i'm gonna play with it at the track... but overall, i'm pretty happy, just hoping the spray will make up for the lack of current power...

Oh trust me, as long as everythings working the way it should, you won't even believe it's the same car lol.

You have all the right stuff to make it move well, AS LONG as it was all installed correctly. On my timing, I have the calumsult ecu, so I can just use it to switch the timing around whenever needed. I drive my car around all the time now at 12 though.

well everything worked pretty damn good... just some slight detonation issues... quickest trap speed was 115 and the quickest et was 12.5... after some launch issues, it ran a 15.9 @ 112... so it has way more in it...

I'm sure after a couple trips, you'll get everything ironed out, and get used to the car so you can make clean passes. Have fun!!!
