Launch control + nitrous...
Trying to brainstorm for the setup I want to use for the upcoming race season. I'm currently using a WOT activation for the nitrous. Now, I have had guys tell me go for the MSD window switch to activate the nitrous as well as shut it off whenever I want. The idea sounds great and I wanted to go in for it.

Here is what I have been thinking about. I want to get the MSD 2-step for launching. I was planning to have it activate when the e-brake is up for preloading and to turn off once I drop the e-brake and launch. Now, what is the way to be able to go WOT while using the launch control but being able to not spray nitrous. Is there anything out there that works around this? If I have nitrous activating at even 5,000rpm's via window switch, I plan to have the 2-step set for 6000-7000 which is what I was launching at without the 2-step. That means nitrous will be spraying, no? If anyone has a setup they can share, please post up. Just trying to get some ideas together so once the motor is complete internally I have an idea of what needs to be purchased to get the best times out of it. TIA!

I personally would just go with the wot and forget the whole 2 step. Its easy you rev rev at the line then punch it and shift, etc...... you rev as high as you feel safe and athats it. No need for any more electronics.

This is all IMHO.......and it worked great for me turbo'ed, N/A, whatever.....

goodluck on whatever you decide.

the best way i believe is to have a nitrous controller with a first gear lock-out
ex..fjo mini,nos launcher,nx maximzer
i got the fjo mini,it has that option......i have contemplated that for a while too,im really wanting to use a 2-step too but i wanna spray out the hole to help lower the 60 ft's

I have sprayed a 100 shot out the hole and pulled 1.8 60fts. I don't see why people have so many issues out the hole. Come out nice and easy and you'll be butter, but if you have to then i would say a progressive controller might be best, that way you spray nothing to 25 or so out the hole. I personally would spray something so you can get a 1.8 or so 60ft. I mean you need more then the n/a power to get a sub 2.0 60ft., atleast imo....

I've done that plenty of times but it would be much easier to just have the 2-step activated so I can focus on other things such as the tree, oil pressure, nitrous pressure, etc. It also seems to help make launching more consistent as well.

Thanks for the info man. I'm going to take a look at this. I've seen guys net some great 60' times even without spraying. I think spraying right away actually hurt my 60' a bit due to some wheelspin. Going to have to take some thought into this. Trying to get everything on point so I can see some good sub 12 second time slips.

Spraying off the line improved my 60's dramatically, but to each his own...... goodluck on what ever you decide.

in my experience with 2-step and nos- we always hooked a switch up that engaged the 2step and trans brake while pushed and when you let off the button the nos engages. but then again my uncle is an electronics guru and he hooked that up for me. if you want to know exactly how he did that let me know and i can ask him this weekend

Right now mine is setup with a WOT switch mounted under the gas pedal. Right before I launch I hold the car at as high of an rpm I'm willing, normally at least 7k, and when I launch I side step the clutch pedal and floor the car. It sprays the 100 shot off the line and got 1.70 60fts on 22" slicks.

For next year I'm redoing it. I'm going to get one of the adjustable electric tps triggers and set it up at around 75% throttle, AS WELL as wiring up the clutch switch so that it won't spray unless the pedal is all the way up. This way as soon as I let off the clutch it'll spray. The way I drive(pathetically) the car will be getting more nitrous this way.

hooking it up to the clutch pedal is a real good idea, then you don't have to worry about spraying while on the 2step.

yea, make it so the clutch has to be all the way out to work, so if your foots even a little on the clutch it wont spray..
