I needed to get a new key made and last Thursday I did a mobile tint job for a work out of home lock smith,

he told me to look in the glove box to see if the code was still taped to the glove box door and sure enough there it was so all he had to do was input the code and now I have a key made by Nissan spec.. if you guys with 94 and older cars you might get as lucky as I did and the code is still there..

he explained to me that when a key gets worn down it cause's the tumbler inside the key hole to become worn down as well and duplicating a worn out key does nothing but make things worse..

tomorrow I'll post you a picture of my worn down key and my new fresh key, they look nothing alike.. the new key has No play and when I turn the key it feels smooth and accurate.

as you can see the worn out key doesn't look like a new key and here's where to look,, most pre-94-95 will have it still taped in the glove box. besure to get a correct key to prevent replacing everything at some put..

u could also call a AAA certified lock smith and ull get a crazy deal. i lost the key to my p11 and it would of cost me 200 to get it done, with my AAA discount i paid 75, pretty much paid for itself, that was for a chipped key, a regular key might be free if im not mistaken, give it a go

I got to this late. DO NOT CODE CUT the KEY!!! Have a TRACE cut as stated by TearOff.

The cylinder is also worn out and will not react to the code cut key. So they will not require a VIN. Just a drivers license and insurance. That is how we do it at Toyota at least. I would do it for you if you haven't done it yet.

I wouldn't leave the pics of your keys up, cause I can tell you that if you goto Nissan and have them cuts these numbers it will be just like your keys.

if the vehicle do not have a key, the owner will have to bring the registration and title to the dealership. if the key has a chip in it the car will have to be towed to the dealership, if its just an older car with no chip key, u can go any where

im about to pick up a $7800 snap-on scanner that can do that. If you know someone with a real scanner (snapon, matco, launch) they can do it for you
