miami peeps (AJP street)
found out recently that they have named the corner of 102 and bird anthony j perez street. they dedicated that street to my cousin that passed away back in 04 from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Please use caution when around anything that the silent killer can get u.

he was awesome person, raised by a awesome family and had everything going for him at the time of his death. he was the president of his fraternity at FIU and just about to graduate. theres a section near the food court dedicated to him and the woman he was with in the car.

his family started a foundation under his name "anthony's light". they go around school teaching them about carbon monoxide and they have scholarship founds under his name.

if i can be half the man he was, i can die a very happy man.

the reason im posting this is cause i always see those road signs but dont know why they r up there. just wanted to share his life with the south florida peeps.

to me people dont die until they r forgotten and now he will forever

Seems to happen too often. Some weeks a go bodies were found in a Hialeah hotel, it was a group of teenagers that died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Sad stuff

It's great to hear that your family is doing something to educate others. Most likely is saving lives.

Wow, it;s crazy what a small world it is! I was just driving down Bird last night at about 3a.m coming home from work, when I noticed THAT sign posted up when I have never seen it before. It's just amazing how I never noticed it till last night, and the following day a fellow forum member is who is related posted this up.

Moving on, I am sorry to hear about such a tragic accident, but am very happy to see funds being made under his name to learn more about carbon monoxide poisoning. Very proud to now see that sign up and live right by it. R.I.P.

they put that up on friday. i do understand what u mean by this is a small world. after his passing everything has been a sign that comes back to him.

i can post all the times he has shown me or his family a sign but theres not enough space on the server for it.

just to add to it. i post this then i see a civic for sale on the florida section. guess who's aunts house is in the picture. JAYS !!!!

that just shows me he's around and always will be.

I feel you on that brother. That Civic is actually my friends taken in his neighborhood. Def is too small. I do believe he is up there looking after you, protecting you and what not.

I know he is... When things like this happen all the time it cannot be coincidence. The 2 houses on the right the first was his grandparent who passed away a few weeks after his and the other is his aunt that still lives there. That's the party house and the last time we really hung out and chilled was in that house.

Thank u man for being proud of my cousin ... U have no idea what that comment means to me and I'm sure it means even more to his family.

Just wanted to post a update on my cousin. From 117 ave to bird road u will look up and see his name. His parent have done a awesome job on not letting anyone forget who he is.

This brought me to to tears instantly. Miami peeps when u look up, cross urself give 2 taps to the heart and point to the sky. He's not here no more but his memory will last forever.

I'm very proud to see my cousins name out there all over his old stomping grounds

Thanks for teaching me something new and meaningful. I've had carbon monoxide poisoning twice and it is a scary feeling.

I also work on Bird Rd next to the turnpike and I've seen the new signs.

I always cross myself when I pass a site that bears someone who passed away in order to bless them.

My condolences out to you and your cousin's family, they are literally role model citizens that people should look up to and admire by turning a tragedy into a productive good for society.

One last thing, do you have a link where I can buy a battery powered carbon monoxide sensor?
