Thread: problem with car

i have a 92 b13 and the other day i started my car and it was warming up for a min. and then it shut off on me.. i tried to start it again and it shut off right away and hasn't started since.. i thought it was the alt. but the battery is still good. i changed the cap, rotor, coil, plugs, fuel filter, the car has spark and fuel but will not turn on. i ordered a new MAF sensor but i wont get it until the 15th. i dont know if that s the problem but if anyone can help let me know.. i dont want to keep buying parts i dont need.. thanx..

does the engine turn??

yes it does..

check your battery? is your car 5spd? if so try to push start it. if it does turn on, check how long it stays on.. if it turns off it could be your alternator..

also check to see that your getting gas to the engine... could be gas pump...

from my experience with a bad maf that i had.. my car would turn on but if it idled to low it would turn off... i would have to keep reving the car so it could stay on...

it did the same thing to me a couple of times before it died on me but i guess i'll check it out..

how low is the gas in your gas tank? i spent 2 days trying to figure out this problem, i changed everything even a new alt. turns out i was low on gas and the driveway i was parked on was at an angle not allowing the pump to pick up enough fuel!
leveled the car out on the street and it fired up in one second and ran perfect!!!!!!

1/4 tank full.. but when the car stalled it just shut off. didnt bogg out just or stutter just off...
