Should it be grounded? I didn't see any mention so I thought I'd bring it up

no, its just sheilding. It doesnt get grounded or anything. Normally its not twisted together like that. Its usually just braided around the ground and signal wire that go inside the grey sheath down to the ecu. just cut it back so you dont get any strands connected on anything else.

Makes sense, just EM shielding. It was twisted a bit when I got it, but underneath the gray insulation it was strait.

Is it best to reground the two black wires? I was just going to run them to the stock MAF ground and add a reground to that.

The shield is grounded at the ECU end only.

Shielding should be grounded, but only at one end.

Does anyone use the VE maf?

if you carefully peel back the rubber covering closest to the connector you can see the four wires. On Z32 harness that i have, there are 2 white wires one thick one and skinnier one; then 2 black wires one solid and other blk/grey.

Thick white wire = 12v +
Thin white wire = 5v output
Solid Blk and Blk/grey = Grounds

This thread really came in handy today. I was wiring a GTiR MAF to a B13 harness

not sure why you had to look at this because the b13 and GTIR share the same plug
