Thread: 6 speed starter

What starter do I use with at speed? I know you have to use an open end starter. But, the one I have only works sometimes. I have pulled it out and bench tested it multiple times and works great. It acts like it is not engaging into the flywheel. Any help would be much appreciated.

I ended up buying an open nose off Rock Auto and no issues thus far. What flywheel are you using? Make sure the torque on the bolts are good. Other than that a misalignment would be the only way this could happen.
