Thread: 1995 Infiniti G20 Transmission Issues

Hey everyone, it's been a few yrs and still having transmission issues. the shop that did my transmission rebuilt perhaps is missing something that maybe someone can help out on please.

Below are pics of the damaged case in my 95 transmission.

Part # 16 perhaps causing this scoring and damage on the back casing?





This is the 2nd case replaced, a previous case was cracked by the gears breaking out from it. The score in my transmission appears to be coming from the 5th stopper scoring into the case causing 5th gear to pop-out and cause damage. maybe they are installing incorrectly? Maybe they haven't put the lock / snap ring in properly? I know I will buy the 5th gear popout kit, but not sure if it will fix the issue of the stopper scoring the back of the case? This transmission broke twice under and I wish to have this issue fixed. any help would be great
