Which LSD to use...
I have a RS5F70V from a b15. Only been able to find two replacement LSD's for the tranny. MFactory and I managed to find a Quaife on horsepower freaks website. Not even sure I can get that one, But is anyone aware of any other options and if not is the Quaife really $500 better? Should have somewhere around 300 NA whp after the engine is finished. Hate to have all that power to just waste it in the not-so-bueno viscous OE unit. Ideas?

It might have been discontinued, but cusco used to make a clutch type one. In a lot of SR16 trannys they have what a lot of people call the NISMO LSD in them. SEALTI96 I believe has one of these trans for sale $700-$800 range, couple on eBay too. B15 like gearing, a tad shorter in a couple gears. Might be your most reasonable option as you don't have to worry about reshimming and new diff bearings, etc. BTW the 70V diff and 32V diff will interchange from what I understand, as they did the swap on MotoIQ (Rockwood's P10)

Hope that helps.

From what I've gathered the sr16 tranny doesn't have the side mounting point on it, which doesn't work with the p10. I've noticed a few on ebay also but was hesitant. As far as the reshimming and what not, I've got a guy local who said he would install it for me if I had him redo the synchros and bearings and everything in mine. He said while he was in there he would just do it. And it seemed like a reasonable price. Also I just got my current tranny as a replacement to my old b15 that I shreded. Not interested in buying ANOTHER used tranny. Thank you for the info though!

I spaced on the side mounting issue on the sr16 trans. So MFactory/NISMO would be my vote...but its a matter of when...The Mfactory is still in testing and could be a couple months out yet and the NISMO units are hard to come by other than in the trannies that are imported. If that Quaife is actually available it costs more but could be available now. The cusco seems to be available still, I saw it on a couple import websites rhdJapan, Japanparts, etc, but after shipping it could be steep.

Happy hunting!

Hey thanks for all the input. I looked on Quaife's US website and it didn't show it as an option. But the UK version of the website did. Then I found it on horsepowerfreaks, so I don't know. It looks like the 70 series tranny is on MFactory's site also. I thought it was just the 32 they were in R&D with.

The diff units are the same in 32 and 70.

Did not know that. I figured because everything else is different on them that the LSD would be also. So does that mean that the final drives are interchangeable also?
