Thread: B14 with B15 tranny. What clutch cable fits?

I have a b14 with a b15LSD tranny and have been buying the 2.0 and 1.6 cables from napa.

The bottom cable is the one originally in the car. The top is a napa for a 1.6 (shorter). you can see how the firewall connection point is different between the cables. So it appears I need a cable that is even shorter because the new creates a large kink just outside the main bracket.

My question: Do I need to get a B15 cable because I have a B15 tranny? (thought they were all hydro) OR maybe I just need to go to the dealer and get.... what?

Nissan went to the hydraulic setup with the B15, IIRC. You can use a B13/B14 cable if you want I believe, @Boostlee can chime in on this as he has a B14 with a B15 trans and a B14 cable.

Right we are not using hydraulic So it must be a Nissan cable. Bot so far both napa parts are longer than the one that was in the car.

I had a B14 SE-R cable on my B15 gearbox (and the box was converted to cable, obviously).

Use the cable that matches the chassis.

Makes sense. But I haven't had any luck getting one to fit. I'm thinking the OEM part may be the right choice.

You will probably have to pull on it a lot to get it to stretch far enough to hook over the arm.

My problem is that all the napa cables have been too long.

Pulled a sentry cable from the wrecking yard today from a 1.6. It is the same length as the napa cables. So confused as to why my cable is about 2" shorter

Ok we got it figured out. Whatever cable was in there was very short. Shorter than a 1.6. Once we removed this brass spacer from the stock mount, the 1.6 cable would fit. Any thoughts as to why this copper spacer would be in there to accommodate a shorter cable. Is it a common mod perhaps?
