a clucth a year! help!
okay so i been going thru clutches like no other. i bought my B14 with a "trans problem" years back. Pulled the Trans and it was a clutch spring fell out. Got an BNIB OEM Exedy replacement kit. didn't have and issues till i went Boost(stock avenir with raised boost). Then that dropped a spring again. So i went with a BNIB ACT Sprung 6 Puck KIT. Got Rid of the DET then got a fresh JDM and while swapping realized that near the springs on the clutch were cracking. had no more than 10k on it. So since had spring issues with all my clutches i bought a NEW ACT Unsprung 6 Puck(disc only since rest of the clutch parts were still pretty much new), threw on the DE and drove about 7k-8k miles then the clutch splines took a dump on me. Sent in my stripped 6 Puck to ACT got a replacement for free since i was still under warranty. Put it into my car (stock JDM DE) and the clutch spline stripped again in about 800 miles. pretty much went through 4 clutches in 7 years. and in those 7 years i probably only put 20k miles on the car. WTF is is going on? i get my fly wheel refaced every clutch job and put in fresh gear oil every time as well. hoping this does not make me look stupid but i never ran the Pilot bearings wither because i remember reading on here that we didn't need to cause the shaft don't go that far, and to add they were always to big to fit. Do i need that pilot bearing? should i get it machined down so i can get it to fit? bad luck?

ran a b13 trans for all years till about a month ago, i put back my b14 trans last month with the new clutch
car was only boosted for less than a year then DE with cat-back for the rest.

since my warranty is over , im thinking on getting the CM fx500 since everyone is speaking nothing but good about them and i do plan on returning to boost within the year

i drive normally as well. give my car a car quick run thru the gears like once every 2-3 weeks if that, no clutch drops or anything like that either

Exedy, act = your issues

Get a spec stage 5 or fx500

The fx500 can be picked up for 306$ online right now.

Make sure you install the clutch correctly and break it in as detailed by the manufactioner. I know ppl hate jgy but I ran the jgy 6puck clutch for 7rys YES that's 7 YEARS on my 350whp det b13. This was with lots of track runs and Dyno hits clutch kicking and slicks. My point is install it right and break it in.

PS. The definition of in sanity is repeating the same action over and over while expecting different results. Enjoy. Lol

Yeah you can get it for around that. I also recommend the FX500. While pedal feel is good, it is noisy and NOT easy to drive. I.E. - a friend who is unfamiliar with the car will stall it 3-4 times before getting going. Ha. Maybe that's a good thing. w/ the FX500 and lightweight Flywheel and pulleys it's pretty crazy. not thattt bad, but much different.
