Thread: Need help identifying symptoms.

Its a 5 Speed LSD, it won't shift into gears when the car is running but it will when the car is off. With the car being off I put it in first gear with my foot on the clutch, the car did not stall but when i released the clutch a little bit the car moves forward like its supposed to. The car does stall if i let go of the clutch. Just trying to figure out why the car won't go into gears when its on.

Hmm I'm not a transmission expert but I'll throw this out there. Check the clutch cable and clutch arm end play. Sounds like the clutch may not be releasing when the pedal is depressed

But before you take the trans apart mess around with the clutch cable and see if that makes anything better.

that's the 2nd time I had that happen to me, never going back to springs again

Clutch is not releasing correctly.

Causes:
Clutch Cable Bad
Clutch Cable out of adjustment
Clutch Arm broken
Clutch Disc spring failure

Fix:
Spend money on new parts.

Somehow my Clutch decided to work for me without making adjustments. It shifts 1-5 Fine but grinds at reverse...

She is running and shifting all gears beautifully! but my speed-O is not operable.
