Non LSD tranny problem
Ok. So im trying to rebuild this tranny.

But before i put back the tranny cover, i noticed that when the lever was put in neutral. The gears are engage to 1st gear.

How should I fix this?

Can you post a pic of the trans? With the lever in neutral all the engagement collars should be centered between gears and the lever should turn side to side but not in and out. Now if you took the gear stacks and shifter parts out then you might have misaligned the 1-2 shifter mech. The shifter mech. also has alignment keys/spacers and if one is out of place it will cause issues.

Sounds like that tranny is fubared.

Did it ever run on any other car? Who removed it? Anyone physically drop it while it was in 1st gear?

It should be fixable. As long as the gears or case is not broken these are easy to fix.

I guess ive seen whats wrong.

The selectors are align properly, but i noticed that the synchronize for the 1st and 2nd gears are inverted.

Am i correct?

I can't tell anything from that pic. With the stacks apart like that nothing should be stuck in one gear. Your going to need better pics and more details on what you need help with. I hope you didn't spend much on the parts for that trans because the syncros don't go bad that often and used transmissions are cheap.

Update. I already fixed it. Pulled the gears and i reversed the gear selector for the 1st and 2nd gears.
