Thread: first time doing a clutch want to make sure i am getting all the parts i need

hello, first clutch job. wanted to get any pointers and make sure i got all the parts i need. i have read like 4 how to's and think im putting my list together right. what i gather are these items let me know if i need more,

-clutch kit- exedy oem
-flywheel- oem or exedy
-flywheel bolts, was told use ford 4.6 arp bolts. anyone know the part number
-tranny fluid mt-90
-axle seals i think i have some
-pilot and throw out bearing from kit
-rear main seal

thats all i came up with. anyone see anything im missing? thanks all.

TOB clips! do not reuse these.

now to figure out if the exedy oem replacement will work wit hmy mods thanks guys.

Just re use old bolts The key is to torque them correctly as not to exceed the metals elastic limits. Don't forget supplies like gloves, brake clean, rags/pig mats, monkey piss/pb blaster especial to spray stuff down the day before in some rusty areas if you've never takin this stuff apart before.

Also may be a good time to examine and or change axle boots

This x2.. along with what dxpxe said.. Use gloves / clean hands when installing or even touching the clutch / flywheel. Brake clean the fly wheel clean before installing clutch... Have fun, its easy, took me a hour and a half once to remove it so don't feel like its too hard

Can't do rear main without dropping oil pans correct?

NOT true.You can do the rear main without taking any pans off.just remove the flywheel.

Thanks for confirming that... wasnt sure so i figured it was good spot to ask. thought that those two studs on the bottom would interfear with putting the seal on straight without rolling the edges.

Just make SURE that you dont nick or scratch the surface where the seal touches....meaning do not scratch the metal surfaces when removing the old seal I have a screwdriver that the end is plastidipped to help
