This got me thinking, the 6 speed probably has more drivetrain loss then the 5 speed does (Extra gear stack, bigger/heavier gears). With an 02/03 gearstack reving at 2800rpm at 70mph, I wonder if it's basically at the same efficiency range as it was with 5 speed.

I would love to find out by using an 04 trans, but honestly don't know if I have the motivation to do that all over again, tempted just to sell the car and start with a LGT.

So far untuned, my tank average has gone up 5mpg. Hit 33mpg average on a 200 mile trip to the dyno.

That's with dyno time too right? I spent an hour on the dyno while we were at John Kerr's shop and I still got 30ish mpg, but even on regular highway only drive at 70mph I just can't break away from 31mpg .

What are your RPM's at at 70 and 75mph? Also what timing are you running at those RPM's?

Yeah that included my dyno time, and 100 miles of 70-80mph cruising.
I can probably expect 35+ if I stayed around 60mph.
75mph is ~2900rpm(tach reads 3100).... not sure on timing next time I have my laptop hooked up, i'll look. but I imagine somewhere over 30*

Knocked the timing down from 38* to 30* at 2800rpm range. Drove 70mph max for 205 miles, with about 10 city miles. Filled up 5.95 gallons = 34.39mpg. Finally getting somewhere. Roller rockers really don't like timing, I need to try lowering the timing even more and see if she gains more...

DSS says they are making the shorter shafts now.

They want a count on who needs them?
