I just got my trans yesterday but haven't looked at them yet, so that's good to know! Can you do me a favor and measure your Maxima pressure plate from flywheel to end? I can't really decypher the other pics you posted.

I posted measurements in post #102. It's 53mm thick. I wound up ordering a spec stage 3 PP for a s13. It's a little thinner than the maxima PP, but if you wanted to use the maxima PP with a S13 flywheel, you'd still have room to play since the FW is thinner. I'll sell you my maxima PP if interested. I'll measure my S13/S14 flywheel when I get a chance, but it's about the same thickness as the P11 one, which is 1.29", with 2.08" PP I'm at 3.37" total, which is not far from 3.43 that oem P12 is. Now this is very tempting!

Hell, that's only .05" shorter than the P12. It should work without modification in that case. This is awesome news.

Alright my Nismo S13/S14 is actually thinner it's 1.15" thick, still not bad though. What I am concerned about is the input shaft being long enough. Yesterday I measured my 6 speed with p12 housing and the input shaft is 1.5" away from the engine end of bellhousing. The teeth begin 1.75" in, thus the disc might not be on the input shaft enough with that flywheel. I will try to mock up my p12 flywheel setup too and see.

I'm trying to get Keo to measure the regular SR20 transmission to see how far out the input shaft is on those.

Keo measured the regular SR20 transmission: 0.75" to the tip of input shaft, 1.25" to the teeth.

I also installed the S14 flywheel onto a spare DET long block, it is 1.41" from engine to end of flywheel, that's without the .07" spacer. That means S14 flywheel sits 1.35" into the transmission.

Thus if you were to install it, this is how far the disc would sit on the input shaft.


This is probably the minimum distance needed on the shaft, which is 1.7" in (43mm), that means the flywheel needs to be at least 1.7" thick

1/2" thicker basicly. Thats why all the 6 speed flywheels are basically 1/2" thicker than the 5 speed ones. The disk on a proper setup sits much further on the input shaft than that. Probably another 1/4" or so. Like I said, your better off just getting parts that are known to work and that were made to work. But thanks for the measurements and confirmation. I originally did all these measurements with my original 5 speed twin disk. Then took measurements of how much further in it needed to be. Then took measurements against a p12 setup that Miko provided and everything I came up with was showing it needed to be 1/2" thicker than the normal flywheels. And thats what Comp made the new 6 speed twin disk flywheel. .500" thicker. Everything fit like a charm.

I've been talking to Snickers about this, he also mentioned that if you can get the disc splines extended 1/2" it would work. I'm trying to search for some threads where S15 guys underwent the same tasks.

Well there are disks for different types of vehicles that have the splines offset towards the trans more than others. That disk you have is pretty flush but thats because of it being a p12 disk. Still, if the pp is still sitting 1/2 further toward the engine youll run into issues with the TOB. Again thats why your better off just getting parts that fit. lol

Oh I would use a Maxima PP, since that would extend out a good bit. Sadly no one really lists the spline length of the disc.
