The hole is located almost directly in front of where the ecu mounts. You cant miss it. Its a tack welded plate that covers it. Gotta either punch it out, drill it out, or whatever floats your boat. I tried to punch mine out with no luck so i took a 1 1/2" hole saw to it and made a nice clean hole for them to pass through.

On a side note, don't get the Versa floor shifter. That thing is HUGE!!!!!!!!!. looked smaller in the pics till I got it.

Yes. The ends of the 2 shifter cables are attached to the shift selector on the tranny, and that little bracket holds the cables in place with the 2 clips. I have an shifter extra cable bracket if your tranny didn't come with one. You can have it for the cost of shipping.

I ended up using a 5 speed Altima shifter assembly and it worked out pretty good. It seems to be similar to the spec v however on the back part of the plastic, it looks to be missing two mounting bolt holes that the Altima one had. The altima one fit down almost perfectly into place in the stock shifter hole, the rearbolt holes that were originally for the shifter bushing (just gotta remove the stud plate) which you can see on mine on the under shot, then I drilled out two new holes for the front ones. It is perfectly secured. Used some long 10mm bolts and some lock nuts.

As for where the cables go through the floor, I punched out the little panel that you can see is for the automatic versions where the cable goes through the floor, and the rubber piece you just have to mod and drill holes to put bolts through or just ditch the rubber piece which is what I did, Mine is a drag car not a street car so It didnt bother me. It can be easily done though and look like factory. Only other problem is obviously the console. The cables go right where the bottom tray of the center console is so you either need to modify it to clear them or just leave it out. The rest of the center armrest and so on fits fine. The shifter surround obviously doesnt work and im sure you could do something custom to make it look clean and factory looking.

Thanks for the info... I plan to mock everything up this wknd. Since the car will be a street driven car, I'll be utilizing all the rubber pieces that came the shifter. Goal is to make it look as stock as possible.

Oh and on the Altima shifter the only modification I did to it was at the back side of the shifter there was two raised posts at the corners that are for the stock center console/armest trim to bolt to. I cut those off at the base so that my armrest/center console would fit over it just fine which it did.

The spec v shifter doesnt have those raised posts. So your good.

I have images of how I routed the cables in my build thread. I kept the rubber surrounding the metal bracket too. It looks completely stock from the outside.

What are your plans for the console around the shifter?

Im going to fabricate one out of aluminum and flock it, since I have already flocked the rest of my interior anyway.

Looks like the difference between the spec v and Altima shifter and cables is that that passthrough piece bolts on the outside of the car on the Spec while my Altima one bolted on the inside. Either way you can put it on either side and it wont matter as it can move around.

Cleanly done though man. I like it

Only reason I did it this way was because i took all the parts off a spec v myself, and then I made it mount like oem on the b14. I have the rubber boot under the shifter assembly too. Thanks ashton, I want it to look oem as possible because it is mostly going to be a street car that will see occasional daily use.
