Yeah, no need to try and find the matching axles that allow the swap of the outer cv on the passenger side axle. Just get the axles resplined by DSS and good to go. Then just get spec V axles. No changes needed.

Disclaimer: There is one person on here who was having issues with his driver side axle breaking due to possibly binding due to slightly extra length of the axle. However his car is also very low. If you have such problems you can always swap the mid shaft of the driver side axle with the b13 one and keep the spec V outer and inner joints. Its a direct swap over as they all have the same splinned inner and outer joints. Just gotta swap the 3 roller joint over onto the b13 midshaft as well as the spec v outer joint. I havent heard of anyone else having this problem though. Coheed is using the same setup but his car is slightly higher and his made over 500whp without issues.

This swap is all fine and dandy with a lot of great info, however, it is not a completely complete write-up...

Any of the 6 speed swappers have some sort of mini write-up with pics for installing the shifter assembly?

I understand it is almost self-explanatory by just looking at the assembly, but it would hurt to include them into this write-up, no?

Below is a pic of the shifter assembly I got...

My question is, do I need the parts shaded in red below?

Yes you need those parts, they hold the cables on and are a lever point, kinda like the clutch cable bracket is for the clutch cable.

That is what I figured, I just can't picture what that bracket attaches to (transmission?)

Yes. The ends of the 2 shifter cables are attached to the shift selector on the tranny, and that little bracket holds the cables in place with the 2 clips. I have an shifter extra cable bracket if your tranny didn't come with one. You can have it for the cost of shipping.

Exactly Manny, once you have that bracket you will see the hole that lines up to bolt it on.

Manny,

If your trans didnt come with the bracket then yes, you need to find the shifter cable bracket and clips on the trans side. I ended up using a 5 speed Altima shifter assembly and it worked out pretty good. It seems to be similar to the spec v however on the back part of the plastic, it looks to be missing two mounting bolt holes that the Altima one had. The altima one fit down almost perfectly into place in the stock shifter hole, the rearbolt holes that were originally for the shifter bushing (just gotta remove the stud plate) which you can see on mine on the under shot, then I drilled out two new holes for the front ones. It is perfectly secured. Used some long 10mm bolts and some lock nuts.

Here is some pics of mine mounted top and bottom. Sorry there are not better pics.

As for where the cables go through the floor, I punched out the little panel that you can see is for the automatic versions where the cable goes through the floor, and the rubber piece you just have to mod and drill holes to put bolts through or just ditch the rubber piece which is what I did, Mine is a drag car not a street car so It didnt bother me. It can be easily done though and look like factory. Only other problem is obviously the console. The cables go right where the bottom tray of the center console is so you either need to modify it to clear them or just leave it out. The rest of the center armrest and so on fits fine. The shifter surround obviously doesnt work and im sure you could do something custom to make it look clean and factory looking.

Let me know if you need any other assistance in it.

Yes mounting the shifter and running the cables seems like it will be tricky
@ashtonsser I assume you cut a hole to pass the cables into the engine bay?

Its all in my post. I used the factory location that the autos use to pass the shifter cable through. Its actually located on the tunnel not the firewall. When I go home on vacation Ill take some more detailed photos of the mounting of my shifter and add them to this thread.
