Ok definately didn't know that that's how much I hate those cars lol. So everything should be the same as far as drivetrain between the 5 speed and the 6 speed then correct? I'm going to get everything that I need for my 6 speed swap for my B13 off of that car.

I believe everything else should be the same. Otherwise someone will say something here soon.

Quite useful information in this thread, unlike the 23 page disaster on the other forum which actually says you can only use Spec hubs...

One thing missing though that was hinted at in the other one. What about the flywheel coming from the car that we use the bell housing from? That being the P12 with a SR20VE 20V with the 6 speed. A used or even new flywheel Should be a hell of a lot cheaper than a custom flywheel.

Also what if we don't want to run a CM twin disc clutch? What year make and model vehicle should we get a clutch from? I heard 240sx I read somewhere that a Z33 one works but IDK Can Yall please be very specific Because I'm about to start sourcing parts for my 6 speed swap. Thanks.

I have a OEM P12 flywheel and clutch. When I get back home I'll find out what clutch fits the stock P12.

Nissan wants over 1K (you guys could probably get it cheaper, but its going to cost more than a custom flywheel i'd say) for the P12 flywheel, plus they're big, heavy dual mass unit like an S15 Silvia flywheel. For a performance application, you don't want one of them. Fine for daily, very nice for daily use, but not for thrash + track.

Just a quick question on this. Why hasn't anybody invested/investigated making a custom bell housing for this swap?

Alot of the adapters and custom bell housings for other car (they even have them for FWD) cost around $600-$800.

I think I posted this earlier also, why hasn't anybody looked at custom Axles? I already know the same shop that makes alot of Z driveshafts has already quoted me $800 for axles. This would be awesome for you big number guys as you can get a thicker axle that is balance and built for your application in a 6 speed.

Both of these together would save $$ by being able to keep alot of your existing components or further build on what already have.

Kcobabe welcome to the Sr20-forum. This is a place where 1 in 140 will spend the money to get a 6spd. Some people just can't or dont want to spend money on a old car. I would like to think it's that they don't want too lol.

Anyways on your axle did they want a core with that $800? or were they going to just sell it to you for that price?

No core charge.

Have the e-mails if you would like to make sure I'm not pulling your chain.

As for the bell housing being 1:140, that all depends on final cost to do the improvement. Not to mention more and more Spec V transmissions are becoming available so who knows will do this.

I'll tell you what once I get close to that part of what I'm doing I will let you all know what I come up with. The best part of being in an engineering field is I have a lot of friends in Aerospace, Manufacturing, and Machine. So I have semi access to big CNC machines to get prototypes up . Granted this is down the road for me, but there you go.
