Surface area of the clutch. The 250mm clutch has a lot more surface area than the 215mm clutch. Not to mention the larger and stronger pressure plates that go with them. Each type of clutch has a rating on how much it can hold and the strongest single plate clutch out there besides going custom is the ACT Extreme PP and 6 puck disk combo. Rated for 405 ft-lbs of torque. You can make roughly 500-550whp on them but not reliably and they will quickly start to slip once over the 500whp mark or any decent amount of use and wear on them.

You of all people Ashton are well aware of my dealings with transmissions components.

I wasn't trying to be funny or be a prick, I just didn't understand how a flywheel size could have a horsepower limit.

I feel that the only true solution on the 215mm flywheel is the twin disc setup!

Certainly takes all the abuse that I can throw at it...LOL!

Well the twin disk setups for the most part are alot smaller than 215mm however big 7 1/4" is in mm. lol.

The flywheel size is irreleveant, the size 215 and 250mm is refering to the diameter of the disk and contact surface. Not the actual flywheel itself.

Thats why I say the 215mm clutch setup like the one from Mazworx for the 6 speed box or the standard set for the SR20s are good for 450 WHP. Thats where everything is safe and not going to slip for a while.

I really want the 250mm clutch setup, but wow at all the extra little work, I might just call up Gregv instead and get his 225mm fly to make things easier.

Get the 225mm flywheel its much easier and can handle 600 WHP with no problem. Tell him I sent you. This flywheel was my idea. All you will need to do is just do a little shaving in the bellhousing on under top bolt of stater inside bell housing.

JWT's 250mm flywheel has been sold out for a little while and they dont expect to make more until around the end of this year....

Guess that will make the decision easier...

I am lost with that statement. There are other people making aluminum flywheels and clutch for th 20V trans

G Spec has a 20V aluminum flywheels and clutch setup and it is better than the JWT setup as far as fitment.

It uses a 240sx 225mm clutch, that has cobinations that will hold up to 650 Lb Ft Torque.
