Thread: Staging brake...

How does that long handle work out? Always thought i'd like to keep mine a little shorter to keep my hand closer to the shifter.

The shifter is not in the way. The angle of the picture makes it look very close but it's not. The long handle works fine for me.....

longer handle most likely gives you a better range and more force from the distance between the fulcrum and the actual spot you pull on/from

That is pretty much the exact setup I want @Kleensleeper . Very nice!! I just need to figure out a way to keep the rear brakes functional on the foot pedal.

Inline slave bro. Just intercept the line to the rear with the staging brake.

Yep, you run the line going to the rear brakes though the staging brake and then from the staging brake back to the rear brakes. this keeps the brakes functional on the foot pedal and with the staging brake.

BTW, ive never had an issue holding my car still with just a properly adjusted and working stock ebrake. The only advantage I could personally see from a staging brake is that it automatically releases the brakes just by simply letting go of the handle vs having to actually put the brake down with the ebrake although you can modify the ebrake like the drifters do to do the same thing by removing the lock on the handle. Ive just never seen the need to spend the money on doing a staging brake.

I could figure it out but I am just tired of fucking with the cables. Wants to do away with the whole factory ebrake kit. Going to try and get my hands on a CNC piece soon and get it mounted up. Thanks guys.

Don't know why you're having issues with the factory ebrake. My old driveway was on a 35-40 deg incline and with one cable broken mines held

Like I said, when I had the twin disk setup I could preload hard as hell and if the car moved it was because it was dragging the ass end. No reason the factory ebrake should be able to do everything that a staging brake can do. Id imagine with skinnies its worse trying to keep the car still without dragging the back tires. But having a stronger brake in the back isn't going to change that.
