can't break into 11's to save my life!
so frustrated with this, just got car back together after a year, went to track and still ran same numbers, (switched to VE) that's my car in the VE-t pump gas E85 comparison started by JKTuning in turbo section. running on slicks also! although to be fair i'm running about 5psi less boost than old setup, but still i'm trapping at 115-118mph. best pass so far with this VE is 12.11@117 with a 1.707 60'!! that's my best 60' ever, mostly in the 1.84-1.89 range. i would post pics of time slips but i don't know how to get them on here. (i know that sounds dumb but i'm not real computer savy) kinda like i can't drive! launching at 5200, no preload and not completely dumping clutch, trying to shift at 7800, sometimes hit rev limit, not sure what else i can do, with that mph i would think should be 11.80-90??

What is the 1/8 time and speed.
For comparo,on a b13 gearbox I was making 360whp 50trim turbo,and was getting 1.9 60ft. My car was going 11.97 at 119mph.
Compare your time slip to mines to see where they are different.
Here's my time slip left column 6898 vs Crx 420+whp

Sounds like its time for a 2 step in that car. If you can leave hard making a little boost, car will dip into the 11's. Its all seat time at this point. Preload the shit of the car. What tire pressure are you running?

How much power are u making? Also, is the car heavy or have you implemented any weight reduction ???
I'm assuming the car has anywhere between 340-400 whp with that mph.. of course, your weight really matters. We ran 11.8 and 11.9 with a small t3t4 on my 200sx at a similar mph.. my 60 ft has always been in the mid 1.6s.

as far as driving, let me tell you, it takes practice. When we head out to an event and race hondas (with similar hp or anywhere between 400-500whp) head up at the track, 40% of the wins are just based on reaction time... getting the car to hook and out the hole. If you are simply looking to get an 11 sec pass, driving is less of an issue. I would say launch the car at 6600--6700 with a good burnout and a nice slick.. if you are running a JWT ecu or something similar, sometimes you have to settle for the power band the car gives you. If you feel it is not pulling, then shift... even if u dont get to your max RPM.

Keep up the good work and you will hit 11s in no time.

* one last note. Take everything people put here with a grain of salt. My experience has been that most people on here dont really know much about drag racing. There are, however, some folks on here that have experience and times to back it up.

luck!

thanks for the replies, yes i'm making 372hp 309tq on a dyna pack, running M&H 24.5x8x13 set at 10.5psi cold. only weight reduction has been sound deadening under carpet and back seat, still running full interior (kinda my goal to run 11's full interior) but if that's not going to happen then i'll start pulling seats. can't afford carbon fiber but thought about fiberglass for hood and trunk??? not sure about this though. I know the preload thing a lot of people recommend. 1/8mile: 7.95@91, 8.08@90, 8.00@91.1, 7.78@92 this was 12.015@117.38 and 7.82@93.7 this was 12.11@117. Gio94 cool video, nice holeshot win, good job.
anyone have or know someone or place to get carbon fiber stuff or something like it cheap? (I know CF and cheap don't go together) just throwing it out there

Don't give up....I was stuck at 12.0 @ 122 with my old DET setup for a while. More seat time & you will get the numbers you're looking for.
I also ran my 24.5x8x15" slicks at 8psi & seemed to get some traction down the strip.

try leaving higher in the rpm range. its going to all be seat time now and with that much power (dynapacks or known to read high) you should be able to get that magic number

have fun trying to get there with what you have dont start buying carbon fiber and crap you can get there full trim

We had a 99 sel that ran 7.79 at the 1/8th with 262whp its all in your 60 foot this car would hook 1.6s all day full interior

I can't imagine how Morgan would arrive at that conclusion given that he did not comment on this prior to my comments. ??? Well I guess to each their own. Like my daddy used to say, "if the shoe fits"...

Thanks, my car is full interior and a/c on drag radials. Don't strip the car just yet, that's not needed.
