I had a blast. It was the first time I bracket raced. The car ran great. I dialed in @ 16.20 and left it there the whole day. I got eliminated it the semi-finals by a purpose built Nova bracket car with full electronics. I don't think I stood a chance. He had it down to the 1/1000th. I ended up being the most consistant manual car there. With the exception of one run, I didn't vary much more than .1. Three of the runs I was in the 16.2s...16.213, 16.215 and 16.269
The event was put on by County Corvette in West Chester PA and benefitted the Ronald McDonald house. It wasn't intended to be a pro event. Of course, there's always someone that brings a shotgun to a fly swatting event...
I had fun regardless and I'm very pleased with the result. I only wish I would have gotten a shot at running the runner-up (Dodge Ram pickup). With a really solid reaction and solid shifts I think i could have taking him.
This was the field in the quarter finals....pretty eclectic group. The pink Nova in the back won it. The blue Dodge pickup was runner up and the blue Cutlass and myself lost in the semi finals. I was paired up in this round with a CTS-V. By far my closest win. We were only 5/100th apart:
They gave out trophies and a gift card for prizes. More hardware for the trophy wall!:
