OK I just cc'd my own sr16ve non n1 pistons, and also my cp 86mm 12.5:1 ve pistons.





And I got 9.4cc for the 16ve piston and 6.1cc for the cp piston.

What method did you use to measure them?

Used the same bore in a 20ve block, compression ring and piston smeared with petroleum jelly, then piston deck line pushed down 10mm into the bore, then a bit of clear plastic on the deck with a hole in it, then put gearbox oil in using a 5ml and 1ml syringe. Calcs were then (4.3x4.3)x3.142-fluid used to fill bore = piston dome cc. Obviously my numbers won't be bang on as the bore will be slightly bigger than 86mm but they will be close enough I think

That's how I'm gonna do it also, doing it this way also measures the area around the top ring, one less thing to try and measure

Yeah one less thing, when I pull the 16ve to put in the new bottom end I'll also cc the combustion chamber to check it too, but tbh I can't see the already known numbers being that wrong.

Maybe i should ask a mod to move the comp ratio discussion to another thread?
