Depending on what slicks your using, lower that tire pressure down to 10 psi if using 22X8X15's or 7.5-8psi if using anything larger than that. Get those 60's into the low 1.7 and your at a low 12 easy.

Still not bad for your first time out.

Yeah I ran the slicks way too pumped up the first two runs and said fuck it let me lower them down till they start to wrinkle and that def helped out a lot. my tire gauge took a crap when I was at the track so i was just guesstimating. I didnt want to break anything since its my daily driver and I drive it to the track and back.

Yeah getting the tire pressure set in is one of the biggest things you can do to improve that and learning where to launch. A two step launch control helps a ton but if not, hell rev limiter launching it always worked out great for me on the smaller slicks.

In short order you will be pulling 1.7-1.8 real soon. I forsee you going to the track more often, gets addicting quick always trying to improve on your driving habits for each chnge in setup.

What I find so addicting about the track is just launching the car, especially when you feel like you got an awesome launch you start throwing gears like crazy. Happened to me in the G20, had a great launch(2.0 60ft nolsd on direzza's) banged second and the clutch went bye-bye. Still manged a 13.4 @ 102mph.

I will be at the track every week thats for sure. as soon as i launched it and hooked I was so happy and knew it was going to be a better run.

One question i have is should I ride out 3rd through the traps or shift to 4th? Im on 24.5x9x13 slicks and b14 gearbox. Its still pulling at the top of third and feel like me shifting to 4th is def losing me some time

Yes, ride out the gear if you can. The shift hurts. Thats like when I ran my 60 trim setup on 22X8X15's and had to go to 5th gear. haha. Wasted a lot of time

Yeah you guys that are close to tracks take advantage of that. Hell I know they have a crap ton of IFO events and other competitions at ATCO, Englishtown such as fall nationals and so on that you guys that are into drag racing should not miss even if you dont get to bring your car. I would kill to be able to go to some of those events. Im sad that I missed the TX2K12 event this year being overseas but oh well. Thats why im not in any way missing the convention even if something happens to my car that causes me not to bring it. Im still going.

I cant wait to be home. Im going to love being close to the tracks again because trust me, 3 hour drive to the strip sucks especially when you break and have to be towed all the way back home with a 20ft tow strap hooked to an Evo doing 80 on the highway (4X and makes me laugh every time I think about it).
