It will not only increase x amount of hp but would also allow the motor to spin more freely, that will be something either the track testing will show Or you can try it on the Dyno by switching it to seconds instead of engine speed or mph.

So why can't you run a 16v with the alternator? Would that bump the voltage up too high for the electronics? If the ecu can adjust for up to 24v just run a 16v with alternator.

Your missing the whole idea. No alt. means less weight ,less drag on the motor by not having to spin the alternator loaded,That's the reason for running a higher output battery so that it has enough juice to power up the car.

waste of time imho...my experience and a lot of american muscle experience speaking as well. Just not worth the minimal power gains. My ex boss runs a 750ci motor and runs an alty because it's just too much of a pita to charge after every couple runs. We disagreed on a lot of shit...except for this.
