boost leak test

Yeah I have to buy a boost leak tester now or the stuff to make one. Im honestly tired of spending money on this car. Its costing WAY more then the Vette is to maintain. And the only reason I started going back in on it was because I was gone let the Vette sit for a while and learn how to take everything on it apart taking my time. But its like....shit if I have to spend this much money to keep this car driving then I might as well just take the Vette to the tranny shop now (cant get into third) and let the NX sit some more. I remember now why I put it on time out in the first place. But I love it to much to sell.

Stratt you may be right. I might have to just go with a big bore all motor Ve with spray for whenever Im feeling froggy. Itll be way more reliable, run cooler, and wont break trannys as much either. Im seriously considering it. But boost is SOooooo much more fun on these cars . Oh well

a popped coupler wont really cause a low vac read unless it goes super rich and even then not that low. You probably popped a hose on the intake manifold somewhere. Just check around. brake booster hose and soo on. Hope its an easy fix. The high hp turbo game can get very expensive at times when little things keep going wrong. And they will. Its just part of it. You dont see any high hp anything that is super reliable like an n/a motor. Just doesnt happen. Way more things to go wrong and when something even minor goes wrong, it can cause big problems. such as my fuel pressure regulator that was supposed to be the best out there, and it fails and what happens, goes lean and causes some damage. But it happens. Even the best parts will fail. Just gotta be persistent if its something you want in and out of your car. Dont get angry at it, just hop on it and fix it. All you can do.

johnny, whats wrong with the vettes trans. Thats not a fun job pulling the trans down on one of those either. I had to pull the motor on an 02 vette z06 and it was not a very fun job. Just pulled the motor, torque tube and trans all down together.

Asthon there is no tranny job thats fun. But yeah I know its not gonna be. I even change my oil on my boys lift cause its such a pain in the ass to even jack the car up. The easiest/best way is to buy four jacks!

And I did check all the vacuum stuff. I even took off the coupler I figured might have popped off and inspected it for holes since It hadnt popped back off. I also looked extra good at the spots after teh maf since Im blow through. Nothing! What the hell would cause close to zero vacuum? Did I blow the shit up at 14lbs of boost and 12:1 a/f ratios?

eh, i dont know about that. I can do an sr20 trans/clutch job in less than 2 hours by myself. Its all a matter of knowing what needs to be done and do it quickly. lol. But yeah I would imagine the vette would be very difficult to work with without a lift. So whats up with the trans on it?

have you found a way to pull the trans without unbolting the axles from the hubs?

Edit: in our cars not a vette

Josh how would you do that. Thats pretty much the same thing as pressurizong the block and thats not good.

Ashton, tranny wont go into third and when you let out on the clutch in nuetral it makes a loud "spinning" sound. I think thats the TOB. But I can get into every gear with the clutch pushed in
