Melted piston? Sounds like pre-ignition, not detonation.

What size of intercooler were you running when you pre-ignited? What temp spark plugs were you running?

I ask because 11.5:1 A/F and 15 psi from a T25 shouldn't pre-ignite I wouldn't think. Far from it. Something else must have caused it.

Thats what im thinking, it definetely ignited before it was supposed to. it was running about 16psi 9.5:1 motor. on 91 octane, most have said it was probably the low octane gas that ignited due to higher cylinder temps, im running bkr6e's I still need to get some 7e's but i dont think that was the cause, my intercooler is a 28X9X3 so i know its doing its job. haha, So now im only going to be running 100 octane race fuel when i run 16psi just to be safe. I also got the ecu tuned by Calum for my exact setup so no more weird issues hopefully with the settings.

Cuz heres the thing, i would get it tunned good on the safc according to the wideband and then i would do another run and it would be totally wack, it would run lean as hell so i would let off and change the settings and re run and it would be pretty good then do another run and it would be lean as hell again, i dont think the ecu liked being corrected that much for those big injectors. It just wouldnt hold a good a/f ratio consistently. Im thinking maybe a timing issue due to the safc cutting back soo much. but im still unsure. i will see here today when i get my ecu, Got a fresh JDM in there and just waiting on the ecu which comes today any time, i will see how it feels. 9-10 daily and 16psi on race gas. I will know if its running a lot smoother. I will let you guys know how it feels.

What were your 60ft times?

Edit: NVM, I'm still sick or something. I1 must be 60ft.

Just as an FYI, I daily drive 16-17psi on 91 octane with a Calum ECU @ 4 bar, 520CC STI injectors, T28 Turbo, 8.5:1 compression (DET). I am running really rich though.

My fastest times before I did some recent upgrades were 13.2 @ 114 mph on bald Falken 512's and a slipping ACT Extreme PP w street disc clutch. My 60ft's were 2.3+.

Great times man those look really good. Which s13 manifold are you using and how is the fitment? Do you still have ac?

No AC, No heater, no power steering anymore with the new motor in, No front bumper support, no a/c crap behind the dash, no spare tire and jack, no emmissions crap, Every a/c component removed along with bracket and same with the power steering, No exhaust at all which is a big weight savings, just running open Greddy 3" outlet pipe

Still gotta remove the rear bumper support, all the heat sheilding underneith the car, want to eventually get a carbon fiber hood, and then a 9lb battery to replace the 40lb duralast, haha. So i still have another 100lbs that i need to take off, Then on track day the passenger front seat and rear seat cussions come out also which is good for another 50lbs. The car now is probably in the upper 2100 range. When im done i want to be right at 2000 lbs at the track next time i go. We will see. I just hate to get another battery when mine isnt anywhere near dead, these duralast golds are pretty tough.

If i can ever get this injector nightmare straightned out im hoping next time i go to the track i can hit a 11.9 on slicks running 16psi of boost. i will dyno the car also.

Im running just a generic tubular manifold, the one that most 240 guys use that keeps the turbo in stock location. It flows really good and i got it from my friend with the turbo and greddy outlet pipe for doing work on his 180sx with an sr in it. So it didnt cost me a dime other than my time, haha Turbo is in awsome shape and should last a long time.

We were talking and he knew i would walk away from him from a roll. he had a lot into that one. 272 cams, exhaust, 23psi, bigger turbo, reflashed ecu with 3 settings. He was on his race setting with race gas. It was pretty sick evo MR

Nice times! Damn that was fast! But for the Evo to be running 13s than he was on the stock turbo or a badly tuned FP Green. My Evo did 12.9 stock, so Im guessing he was on the stock turbo. 23psi is basically stock for Evos these days as they hit 21psi, tapering to 18-19psi stock.

What RPM are you shifting at?

i was shifting 1st and 2nd gear at redline, 3rd gear just a bit earlier. It still pulls really well up to redline thanks to the S4's but yeah the main power is down around 5-6k is where it really pulls. Now on 18psi tapering to 12 by redline it pulls extreemely hard. topend still falling off but when the rpms are in the 4500-6500 range its pulls really really hard. Cant wait to go back on slicks and a couple other changes and with the little more weight reduction that ive done.

You can can go way faster than it is going right now.

1st gear shift at 7800 RPMs
2nd gear shift at 7000 RPMs
3rd gear shift at 7000 RPms

You will run about .4 sec quicker with about 3 more MPH. if you take to long to shift you are falling out of your power band and you are loosing time.
