Since you have those big tires your gonna need to launch at a higher rpm to get them to spin off the line. If you start to wheel hop, LET OFF, dont ride it out. thats bad joojoo.

im gonna try to borrow some better tires for thise weekend and my boost leak is fixed so we shall see what happens

If he's new at the track he shouldn't even be focusing on the lights. It doesn't matter when you go the timer doesn't start until you move. Focus on your launch not if you can get a perfect reaction time. Worry about RT's later.

Are you retarded? The higher you launch the more your wheels are going too hop and not get traction. The way you want to launch is by slipping the clutch to try and keep traction. To eliminate wheel hop all together get some motor mounts and suspension for the front of your car and set it up properly. You will also want to stiffen the rear suspension up as much as possible.

I used to launch in 1st with 230whp and I would get traction with the pedal too the floor up until 6k rpm here my wheels broke loose and hopped to hell where I short shifted into 2nd. If you launch at a higer rpm off the line you will just sit there and spin spin spin. The guy is having traction problems dont tell him to launch at a higher rpm, he will prob end up snapping an axle as well if he is that "noob" at the track. First time at the track I was bogging off the line so someone told me launch at a higher rpm, i was already launching at 4500 so I tried 5500 and snap there goes the axle.

He needs to launch at a higher RPM, its going to depend on what he does with the clutch on how much stress is put on the axles.

Launch at a higher rpm, but slip the clutch and as your slipping the clutch put the throttle to the floor. If you DUMP the clutch, then yea you will have traction issues and snap axles.

i dont dump the clutch i always right it out, ive never tried to give it more gas while slipping the clutch though.

2.3 is not that bad, you just need more practice. If your dash wants to fall apart, you might need to lower your tire pressure, (what was the tire's psi on that pass) ?

Just buy slicks. I did over 50 runs down the 1/4 mile with radials and every time down I said I should have bought slicks.
