i personally do not see the track enough right now to want to put one it although my car requires it.
Hell even if i only get one pass at the track i still have fun doing it.
The track i usually go to is pretty leinient and will usually give you a break.
Last time out my very first pass i went 11.40@129mph, the guy warned me to keep it above 11.5 next time i was out. The next two passes with the crappy slicks i kept blowing the launch and just spinning rediculously all the way until mid 3rd and ran 11.51 and 11.53@128mph, then next pass i went 11.47@132mph he then gave me another warning and said last chance. Well it was already at the end of the night so i let the car cool a bit went back out and pulled the 11.1@132mph And as soon as i got up the the booth the track official came out and gave me the same speech as 3 months prior saying i need a cage, 5 point harness, scatter shield and blah blah.
I just dont see the point, my car i built to be a streetable daily driver car and which it is. It spends most of the time running to work and around town, and abused daily i dont see the hastle or can justify spending the money on the cage right now.
Now what i really wonder is how they are gonna react when i pull off a low low 10 second pass at 140+ next time out, hahaha 135+mph and you also need an NHRA license as well as more safety crap. Hell if i can get an absolute perfect run i could possibly hit a 9. That would be insane.
Now i could see if i did competition and lived near the track to where i was there every other weekend but thats not the case. i have to travel 3+ hours to the nearest track.
