After only a couple days you should be slipping that 6-puck like an OEM clutch in traffic. You should be pro.

You might need 5-6k revs for your launch. It will help that clutch slip if you don't have the pedal control.

i launch like nismotuner does but i roll through the box and stop right after the water and do a decent burnout in second with my drag radials to get a 2.0 60 foot. Its all about practice with the solid 6 puck i dont even notice durring daily driving and launching it was easy pie personnaly.

one thing i regret not doing is having a lazer point heat gun so my buddy could tell me how my tire heats up so i could adjust the pressure accordingly, probebly coulda touched a 1.9 if i got the pressure just right.

one last thing, GUT that baby out for the track

The clutch is not smooth at all at take off. I'm use to it now and I'm doing alright with it. Just not smooth as I want :/ Wish I could go with a disk.

As for gutting, it's not a race car nor it will ever be. I drive this car close to 300miles a weekend and there is no need to gut it when it'll never be in that position. I like my daily status with full interior.

But here are my 2 best times at 2 different tracks. I think I was running more boost on the slower one.

****ty Track:
2.318 60'
6.232 330'
9.253 1/8 mile
81.98 mph
14.078 1/4 mile
100.88 mph

Norwalk (very nice track):
2.445 60'
6.264 330'
9.327 1/8 mile
81.17 mph
11.923 1000'
14.112 1/4 mile
103.42 mph

2nd run had my g/f in the car with me. First run didn't have anyone with me. I'm guessing without her I would've been around 105 mph with a 14.0 maybe 13.9

i said gut it for the track, not forever. If your really lookin for a good time then take everything out thats easy to unbolt for the day.

seats
seat belts
spare tire/roadside equip

that type of stuff ya know. If you can drop 100 pounds it usually gets you a tenth, not to menton its less strain on the drivetrain to get everything going

ok so you are having problems launching? Its one of those experience things. I have well over 50 passes down the track in my car and I dont even think about launching anymore I just kind of do it. Even in my fwd car with no slicks I have out launched many mustangs and rwd cars that should have an advantage . Anyways you gotta be doing something wrong with those time. I ran a 14.3 @ 100 with a stock t-25 on 7lbs and the car wasn't even tuned making about 180whp. IF you are making 290 and only running 14.1 its gotta be the weight of you g/f. lollol. No but really you are making over 100whp more than what I was makin when I ran .2 slower than you. 100 more hp and you only gain .2 I dunno something is strange here...

Well I put 290hp down on 20lbs of boost. I'm at 16 now haha

Ok but still its seems strange. Are you slipping the clutch off the line so you don't spin the tires as much? Basically what I do is pre-load and hold the rpm around 3500. Where I have my clutch position barely grabbing is basically where I keep it for the initial first second. I use to e-brake to keep me from moving forward but I have enough grip in the clutch so the car wants to go. When the light changes All I do is drop the e-brake and slowly let out the clutch while you are giving it more gas.(this all happens in a second but you gotta practice doing it perfect) What you are doing is using the slip in the clutch to control your wheel spin off the line. Like everything thought this takes practice and lots of passes down the track. Some people use other methods but I have mine and it works great for me. I for sure think I could drop a second off your time with that horsepower. I did the math and at 2700 lbs with 290whp you should technically run a 12.2 with perfect traction ect. but that leaves a full 2 seconds of improvement. Id say grab some slicks and launch from 7k at the line and you can see some high 12's

Yeah, I can't slip this clutch AT ALL. haha I use to be able to launch fine, well n/a. My n/a 200sx se-r I hit 2.2 60's all day. Also disk and no solid 6 puck. ran a 15.0 at 91mph lol And yes I believe 12's are very possible with slicks. Guess I just need to get use to this 6 puck more. My luck it'll just **** out on me again anyways.

I've got an ACT hd pp and 6 puck sprung on my turbo car and I love it launching at the track. Once you get used to it, it is very easy to predict and always grabs when u need it to that's why I like mine. I absolutely hate the street disc I have in my g20 and want to go with the same setup I have on my other car when I install the nitrous.
