In the 1/4-mile? No I do not agree. The 300/300 setup should out accelerate the 300/220 setup all else being equal all day long. The only way I see the 300/220 setup having any advantage ever, all else being equal, is in extreme cases where transient throttle response is paramount. The only real area where N/A prevails.

Edit: I can think of a dyno graph that would let the 300/220 car win over the 300/300 in a drag race, but that would be a hugely extreme example.

Idk, I'm thinking back to when I made 300/300 and now my sub 290whp 210ftlbs outruns my old turbo set up no problem...

Idk I guess at the convention well see, when you have 300whp all motor set ups putting lenghts on 350-400whp turbo set ups. Idk maybe I am off track but I always thought and have seen, all else being equal the na will out run the same whp turbo cars.

cory I don't doubt what you're seeing. I think we'd find that if we had God's Perfect Dynamometer and we put your two setups on there, and then your competitors, we'd see dyno charts that show exactly why you'd out-run them. And it would simply be down to the power curves.

I dont know about that Ben, that 300whp Ve owns the 300whp DE-T by far in almost every aspect. Holds more power for a lot longer thats the reason why 300whp n/a will own 300whp turbo whether the turbo car has 300wtq or not.

There is a reason why 360-380whp n/a cars are running 9.90-10.2's while a turbo car would need almost double that power to run those kind of times. While their trap speeds are significantly lower than the turbo cars by a good 20mph usually at those times that can probabably be attributed to the higher power and torque of the turbo car in getting past the wind and rolling resistance of the car and slicks.

There is weight differences but only of about 300-400 lbs between the turbo class and n/a class. But that weight difference isnt going to make up for having half the power.

Their sure is. Without knowing any more details, I would pin it down to superior car prep, possibly driver skill, and the ease with which N/A cars are able to be launched by those without perfect throttle and clutch control.

Yes, the higher trap speed can be attributed to the turbo car's power advantage. Yes, the shorter ET can be attributed to the N/A car's ease of launching, and I would wager those dragging N/A cars are taking chassis prep MUCH more seriously than the turbo guys who seems to like to just turn up the boost to get better ETs.

I would not say it boils down to car prep. The turbo guys are just as serious as the all motor cars. Let's go search and take a look, I bet their 60fts are close...

If what Ashton said about 300-400 lb. heavier turbo cars is right then that could also be a big factor. That's going to hurt on the first 1/8th and be much less of a factor on the back half.
