we will have to see how the axles hold with 450whp or so after summer is over. Man today was freakin just at 100 deg out, summer is coming for us here in southern az

what size slicks and at what psi were they that?

yup first time up to the line and this happened... lol all i can do is laugh at this point.

you guys its not that my car makes much power, its just that it makes the little power and tq that it has up top, so im launching very high. the rpm is too much for the axels to take. i was making over 300whp and running 1.9 and 1.8 back in the day with the turbo and never had any issues with axles either..

the problem is that im still not used to pre loading the car and i didnt have all the slack out off the clutch, holding revs at 8k and getting the clucth to the exact point of friction and controlling the ebrake is a lot of work to do in a few seconds.. so its going to take me some practice. but ill be finally installing the digital6 this week so i wont need to concentrate so much on holding the revs and hopefully that will make it a great deal easier... im pretty sure that will do it.

oh and im running the same 23.5x7.5x15 slicks and they were around 12psi. that track was hooking like crazy, lots of guys in the 9s and low 10s doing some crazy wheelies lol

Thats with 1.7 60 ft times, launching out the hole on 125 shot of NOS.

you werent droping the clutch though right.
but once i get the hang of preloading and get the 2 step working i think ill be ok..

Cory I ran 24x8.5x15

I dumped the clutch with 125 shot out the hole. Once I came up off of the clutch the NOS was on.

I used a double diaphragm presure plate and 3 puck un sprung clutch. This clutch never slipped.


The problem with all this axle breaking thing is that the Nissan axles dont break and the aftermarket **** breaks. Most people dont know what axles they have and they just say my stock axles broke which was never the case.

People stop using crappy axles and get Nissan green axles and have them rebuilt if they go bad.

preloading takes practice, if you have a rev limiter or not here is my suggestion.

If you have a rev limiter do the following:

Hold the rpms at 4k and then slowly let the clutch out with the ebrake up until the car feels like it boggs a bit, hold it still at 4-4.5k until the tree falls, then to the floor with the gas and dump the clutch and let up the ebrake at the same time.

If you dont have a rev limiter do the same produre but time it more to where when the tree falls you can quick rev to 7-8k with the throttle going to the floor while dumping the clutch and dropping the ebrake at the same time. This teqhnique worked great for me first time i went out, i had a rev limiter so it makes it easy to do it. First yellow on the tree the throttle went to the floor and bounced off the limiter maybe two to three times before i dumped the clutch and dropped the ebrake.

Perfect launches every time. On my suspension setup i can probably pull a 1.6XX 60ft if i had done a decent burnout to really heat the slicks. I did crappy 1st gear burnouts and didnt get them anywhere near heated enough. its all in the practice.

I don't preload, I use O'reily's axle's, and I've never broke one.


I also think you need to possibly lower your pressure a little bit. At 12psi I'd spin mine.


Edit: Nevermind if you're breaking axle's your pressure should be fine lol.

it was the first run of the day. i usually start out at 12 and see how the track is hooking and go from there, but yea as you can tell it was a sticky day
