hell thats how i launched on slicks when my car was turbod the only difference i see thats going to make it challenging to launch on the VE on slicks is the fact im not going to have a rev limiter, on the turbo running the 22X8X15 m/t's @10psi air pressure i would stage, rev to like 4k feather the clutch out to preload the drivtrain, once the tree went down i would punch the gas to the floor and quickly feather/dump the clutch while launching on the rev limiter, this equated to a 1.81 60ft my first try, i heated up the slicks better still not great and pulled a 1.71 60ft the next launch same method.
I guess what im gonna have to do is just rev up to 7500-8k, preload, and just partial throttle launch at that, well sort of, punch it right as i dump the clutch, or i could rev it to 4k, preload and try again as the tree falls just punch the gas and time the dump as the revs jump to 8k that would make for a climbing rev full throttle launch. I will have to play with it, but either way a 1.7 60ft will easily be had. Ive pretty much got the hang of the slicks.
Oh and btw the suspension makes a hell of a difference too. your first vids the back did squat way too much, all this does is cause weight transfer to the back and you dont want that at all. I have GC coilover and i love them. the back doesnt dip down at all. if you watch my old vids on slicks of me launching you will see this. even my 1.7 60ft the back end didnt dip at all. Keeps all the weight, what little there is on the front tires. Good job man, those are good 60ft times on drag radials, average person usually pulls 2.0 so either the track is very well prepped which im assuming so and your have it down
