Official 2015 dates.
@Madtec can you clarify the days? You say it starts Wednesday, but Thursday is Karting, and Friday is Road Course. I assume picnic and drag day(s) are after that? So really it begins Thursday? And is the last scheduled event on Sunday? I need to know so I can re-title this section of the forum properly.

The "meet and greet" the night before has traditionally gone without mention.

I try to keep the same format as the other events:
Wednesday - Meet n Greet/mingle
Thursday - Go-karting and or other events (more info later)
Friday - Road Course
Saturday - Drag Racing
Sunday - Picnic etc

Does that more info on the way include a scheduled activity on the 17th other than the late-night meet-and-greet?

The convention worked for lots of people when it was 3 days. Pushing it to 4 days makes things "cheaper" and easier to plan for the organizers, but it means some people can't attend because of the extra time and hotel cost. The drag day was added though, so it makes sense in many ways to add another day. Are we really turning it into a 5-day affair though? I guess the extra day for karting sort of maybe makes this necessary, but I worry attendance and enthusiasm might suffer when people try to fit 5-days into their schedule and consider the price of a hotel for those extra nights, not to mention the price of participating in all of the events.

I just worry that's all. If it's a stretch for time and money for me, I can't imagine how some of the other members get by (no offense).

That being said, obviously I will change the title of the forum section to whatever dates you need/want. (As long as there are scheduled events. Meet and greet doesn't count. The meet and greet happens naturally regardless because of how early the events start the next day. It will be very confusing to past attendees to explicitly schedule the meet and greet as an event on the calendar. Please see the dates for the last 6 conventions as examples.)

Ben stop thinking. It's overthinking that makes these conventions not work. People are gonna come because it's "the convention". If it fits in there schedules for one day or every single minute of the convention they will be there.

The meet and great counts 110%.

Official 2015 dates.
I've moved these posts out of the main convention section so they wouldn't cause any more confusion and get anyone off topic with the nitty gritty.

I am here to help and facilitate. If the forum section needs to be renamed to the dates of 17-21 I will do that (doing it right now actually @Madtec). I have my reservations (mainly I don't want attendees to be confused), but I understand it's not my call to make.

The forum section title has been updated: 2015 National Convention - Winchester, VA. June 17-21

Sorry for the trouble.

Ben,

Whoever can come will come the amount of time they can. Shawn B came Wednesday and left Saturday morning. Others flew in Friday and left on Sunday. The time frame doesn't make it any easier or more difficult for the organizer. It's a pain in the ass regardless.
