Thread: Donald (DAXX) Celso: Raffle

Folks,

Donald approached me via PM and let me know that he's paid most everyone off that he's had issue with, with exception to Jagy.

He has several items he's asked if he could raffle off for the convention.

Some of the items:
built short stroke VE bottom end
P12 bell housing
B14 ram air
Turbonetics t3/t4
Log manifold

The proceeds from the raffles would first pay off the remaining debt to Jagy, and any left over would be donated to the forum. The ONLY way I see this as happening, is if the items are sent first to @happynole or someone else in the convention area that has a vested interest in the convention.

The raffle/bidding isn't a bad idea, to be honest. I just think that the only way it'll happen is as stated above.

Let me know your thoughts. He's been banned from the classifieds and kept on a tight leash thus far.

I don't see that as being a bad idea. How much does he have left to wipe the slate clean?

While conceptually this is a nice thought, who is going to administer this? We are going to have two separate raffles? One to fund the convention with donations we have solicited from forum vendors and one to bail someone out who let stuff get out of hand? Like I said it's a nice thought but I personally want no part of this. If someone wants to totally handle this then I won't be opposed, just won't be involved.

And just to throw it out there, would this action prevent someone who would normally support the convention but had a bad dealing with Donald now not support the convention?

I'm ok with him selling his parts at the convention face to face after some senior members inspect them, but I don't think anybody should have to do foot work for him.

I don't disagree with anything anyone has said.

While the gesture is nice, I think he needs to just sell the parts and pay Jagy the remaining balance. He owes him $500 which could easily be made on the parts listed above alone.

Hell just sell the short block for $500 and send that money to Jagy.

I just have to say my only dealings with Donald was buying a "mint" DET short block.... Nothing was usable and I had to toss the whole thing.

Then that forced me to send another block to Big Tom for work.... Ahh the memories. :sorrow:
