So what's the latest? Are there behind the scenes calls going on? Is Roebling & Georgia off the table?

We are in a holding pattern at present.

Roebling will be setting dates for next year in August. We are in position to get our own Friday in May based on our previous history with them with a minimum deposit required. As you all know, we are currently in sad shape using Savannah for the whole convention due to 3 hours being the closest 1/4 mile track.

I have also made contact with the Carolina Motorsports Park track for the road course, but have been unable to get a solid answer back from them as of yet. If we can get CMP worked out there are 2 1/4 mile tracks within 45 minutes to an hour from Columbia, SC which would be new base HQ. Darlington Dragway has already volunteered to set up the Saturday of our weekend as a test and tune / grudge match night if I get him a date prior to November when he sets up next year's calendar.

There is also a third option we are considering if CMP can not be acquired. We can use Cambria Suites for Thursday and Friday nights, running Roebling on Friday as the original plan was to do. Drive to the Columbia area Saturday morning and have fun at Darlington. We will establish a second hotel in Columbia for Saturday night and I have already checked into multiple park possibilities for the Sunday picnic in the area. I and surely others will prob stay Sunday night and head back home Monday just like this year.

At this point, 2 days in Georgia and 2 days in South Carolina are the only option that covers everybody with guaranteed fun. And until there are solid and in place plans, rumors are the best we can do.

Driving from GA to SC would be an awsome caravan cruise. I like the sound of 2 hotels at two different locations. It will be like having two conventions in one week. Seemed to work in 06.

Thanks for the update Joe. The biggest issue I see with multiple hotels is it may cause issued for folks who are flying.

Not much of an issue if booked properly or if the rental car is driven back to he same airport.

I am pretty sure they can bum a ride to the next location. Fly in one place and fly out the other.

lets just have it in ohio every year! im sure lou and rican would be ok with that
