Georgia Drag Strips
Looks like there are only FOUR 1/4 mile strips in GA, the closest one being 2+ hours from the Hotel.

Dragstrip Finder

Not sure why the pins aren't showing on the map below. For now, use this link - http://goo.gl/maps/E0HJ

I found three 1/4 mile tracks, all about 180 miles (3 hours) from Savannah. 2 are in Georgia, 1 is in S Carolina:

Silver Dollar Raceway - Home

South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, Adel Ga | Race SGMP | SGMP Racing | NHRA Drag Strip | Racetrack | Circle Track Racing

The Legendary Darlington Dragway - The House of Speed - home

There are a bunch of 1/8 mile tracks, but the drag racers want a 1/4. Probably the same as our road racers would prefer an actual road course to an autocross setup. I think?

Damn, Dragstrip Finder listed Macon as the closest 1/4 mile strip, at 134 miles from the hotel, but it's 1/8.

Ya think many people outside of the hardcore crew are going to be up for a 6 hour round trip to the strip?

Mark said that 2-3 hours is what they drive now. If 1/8 was acceptable there is a track 30-40 minutes away.

1/8 mile is good for me. That way I can feel good about running better times. When I tell people it runs 10s, it'll sound more impressive!

1/8th mile tracks are a dime-a-dozen down there. Clay ovals are even more common. Maybe we should do some fender rubbin' in the dirt?!

Cool with me. I know Meeners is good to go with the dirt thing. Yeehaw!
