Track List Spreadsheet
Ok please excuse it, but I have started the all mighty track list. Please see attached. We need to keep this organized. It was a pain for me to go through threads to find all the tracks talked about and pull information already gathered back out. If I missed something please try to give me all the info. For now I am only one who can edit. I want to do more work on it before I open it up at all. Still alot of missing data.

How I want this to work is:

There is a column with forum member name... I want them to be sole contact with track for now. They are to provide contact info, costing, local track/kart/hotel info, etc. If you don't want to research other info please let me know and I will do what I can. I just don't want multiple people stacking effort and wasting time.

EDIT: Convention Hotel Options for Gingerman include:

Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Comfort Suites or even Ramada all 5 miles down the road (would want to reserve block of rooms well ahead of time because South Haven is a big tourist area being right by Lake Michigan)

I think we need a different approach to pricing the tracks. We need to piggyback on to another organization's track day so it can be "pay at the gate". To rent a whole track, exclusive to us, someone's going to have to front the $ to the track. I'm 99% sure that's not going to happen. If it does, someone is going to be putting themselves in financial risk. If you can find a track like Nelson's that has their own program (fun days etc.) already in place that's "pay at the gate", that's another preferred approach. Otherwise you're just spinning your wheels. 2 cents.

The next issue is going to be getting next year's track schedule for this type of track day. I think it's critical to get dates picked out for the Convention early. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the tracks really know what the 2013 schedule looks like until well into winter. I could be wrong.

Hank that is the goal. Individual pricing is "piggybacked". Most tracks do not have a "pay at the gate" practice however. They want money up front before they will staff and open the doors. We are well aware of this.

Agreed and the issue is as you have stated... most don't have schedules done yet. Also we are still in first pass of researching options.

Unfortunately Gateway does not do any sort of 'arrive and drive' program like Gingerman does. You either rent the track or you don't drive there.

Chris are you aware of any tracks with an 'arrive and drive' format? I had never seen that before and it was very popular. I am afraid if we don't... there will be a lot of "you should have done that" with complete disregard to the fact of possibilities.

Blackhawk in Rockton, IL does this sometimes as well typically only during the week on Wednesday
's and Thursday's but sometimes on weekends when some other group cancels before they can get another group in place (not pre-planned in other words). I think I saw them do this at least once on a Friday so I could always ask if it is a consideration? I don't think we even talked about Blackhawk till now though.

The tricky part about the whole 'arrive and drive' Friday's at Gingerman, is they tend to only plan them once everything is already filled up with renting customers. I know they tend to like doing these type of Friday's before a big weekend event for example because so many people will make a longer weekend.

I think it would be worth looking into. It is at the limits of travel distance, but if they offer the arrive and drive would be favorable.

I have info to post for the spreadsheet, but need help on posting. Long story short, sometime in the past I was looking up something and it was a Japanese website. It loaded Google docs, but all the commands, writing, etc are in Japanese. Now whenever I open a Google doc it defaults to Japanese. How the hell do I bring it back to English
