^ sounds like a viable option if they have reasonable pricing!

Not sure but if that's the consensus, it might be best to tag along on a schedule day, or possibly double check w/ a call. They do have a really nice track so I wouldn't be surprised.

Did Summit Point in West Virginia drop off the radar already?

Contact information | Barber Motorsports Park to find out if the fees are still there. I just know early on Audi club stopped going there after getting stuck with a heck of a bill for torn up grass early on when they 1st opened!

As if buying armco isn't expensive enough!

No. Kyle sent email. I haven't heard back.

I haven't even started the spreadsheet of tracks.

This may help us visualize what does and doesn't make sense. Each circle is 800 miles in diameter around Chicago, Atlanta, and NYC. The sweet spot is in green, as it would be the shortest distance for the largest number of people. Yellow would be longer for some, and red would only be close to one of the major cities.

I think planning on more than 800 to 1,000 miles for the majority of attendees will hurt us.

Nice job Mr. Scarpulla! That's a great visual! Should pinpoint things a little better.

I'll figure out some formula to weigh locations based on driving distances for the spreadsheet...

My thought process is this:

If we are sincerely considering a D.C. convention for '14, it may not be wise to have one in '13 relatively close to DC. I'm not against voting for Georgia again. It was a great time, great turn out, and everything flowed smoothly. Barring the return to Georgia, why not the MO/KY/TN area or even the Carolinas?

Just my .5 penny.

EDIT:

In addition, lets talk about something right quick regarding the committee we all discussed and agreed upon at the close of this year's convention...

We all agreed unanimously that Blair, Nate, Chris, would be the track organization committee. They all also agreed that Chris (Chris101) would be a valuable asset.

Let's (myself included) not go crazy with 100 different ideas and locations. I'm sure the track committee will come to a consensus as to what locations are prime candidates, and THEN the committee as a whole can vote on the location.

Thanks...

Don't forget Marky Mark.

If we just keep opening this up... we might as well not have a committee. I don't mind people taking initiative and contacting tracks like Kyle did, but they need to let us know which ones they have so we aren't contacting tracks multiple times. Next thing you know we look like we are at the drag strip not knowing how to stage. ;-)
