That will be a deal breaker for a lot of people.

With how things have evolved a Drag Day is a must for any future Convention.

Not to worry, I've been checking and most tracks open mid April. Two drag related questions:

- does it need to be a 1/4 mile track or will a 1/8 mile track be acceptable?
- how far is too far?

So far I've found several 1/8 tracks about an hour or so, but the closest 1/4 are 2-3 hours away from Savannah

I am not against 1/8 mile tracks however a 1/4 mile track would be preffered by most.

I think it's a must for a 1/4 mile track. 2-3 hours from savannah doesn't seem to be a problem as much as the 1/8 mile instead of 1/4 mile.

^ wow, I had no idea 2 to 3 hours isn't an issue for distance on a drag strip. That means the drag strip within an hour of Gingerman is very feasible I would think if gingerman is still on-the-table for an option? I know Gingerman sometimes does open track days for $150 on Friday's so I'll have to ask how soon they plan those in advance.

Of course anything that is closer would be great!! Us new englanders have the closest track to us at 2 hrs away. But the track is worth the drive, going 2-3 hours to a shit track is not feaseable. I'm more worried about the location of where the road course is.

I agree with some things from the past where we go to different sections of the country year after year instead of being in the Midwest over and over again. Convention is about seeing different parts ofthe country by changing environment so to say.

^ with that said, is there anyone from the mountain or west area checking out pricing options for tracks out there? Right now it seems this committee is all living east of the Mississippi!?

I know there is a big sr20 group in Phoenix and LA/San Diego area and they have Firebird that has a drag and road course (I'm just not sure on pricing there) as a potential 'westward' option to consider? I've been to Firebird and they have the drag strip along with the roadcourse configuration.

It is a 1/4 mile drag strip too!

We are not looking West of the Mississippi. There are tons of people West, but they don't show up. It has almost killed the convention in the past. Long tow/drives for East coasters means less will be able to make it due to time off work.

I could host it in Texas, but nobody will want to drive here.
