When Mark sourced the new AC low pressure line, to replace the one they allowed to hit the manifold, those cheap, lazy hacks did not bother to change out the old-ass drier.

I guarantee they also did not change out the expansion valve.

Clowns. Both of them.

When I used to sell aftermarket we would never EVER warranty an ac compressor without proof of the drier and valve installation. They wouldn't pay us therefore your warranty is void. There's an obvious reason why that is.

But I mean if ss fittings "cost too much" then obviously a 10 dollar drier & 5 dollar valve is way outta line shawn.........lol......lol....and one more lol

I think that zipties on silicon vacuum lines is legit, I'm willing to bet that most people think so too. Boostlee, you might be over reacting on that one.

You have missed my point by about 20 miles . To use zip ties to secure, tie down, attach, etc a majority of the item is a simple, low cost and sub standard way of achieving the end goal.

This is NOT what this build is.

P.s I use zip ties on the PDX/TRACK DAY car. The no budget build we have uses custom sized AN lines for any fluids/ hydraulics and push lock vacuum lined for lines carrying air. AN lines are also use prodigiously through the race car as well

The thing is, making custom plastic mounts requires special molds and is not cheap. Even for 20k build I wouldn't be surprised if zipties were used, it's a custom build done by a small time shop thus not surprised, there are far worse issues other then zip ties (like Rob said).

Nissan does the same exact thing, SR20DET's don't have barbed FPR's either. This is the single most important vacuum line on the engine (in keeping your engine form leaning out) and Nissan refused to barb it on the FPR and on the manifold.

All manufactures try to save money, nothing special here.

That's not the point, it doesn't matter if your dryer is a day old, if it spend a single day open the material inside the dryer will expand to it's capacity due to humidity in the air. Thus it's recommended to replace the dryer everytime you open your AC system (like you would when you replace the low pressure line not to hit the turbo).

Can someone please identify this part for me.

Does this look correct for a new turbo?

Thanks.

They discontinued the pulsar gtir wastegate actuator from the factory oem. So I sourced a used gtir wastegate actuator to be able to adapt to your supplied pulsar gtir manifold. This is an oem part and no that is not brand new because it is no longer available new. And good luck finding that used without buying a complete used pulsar turbo kit like I did to use that part. But everything I state is excuses so take it as you wish

Seems to make sense why this was done but for as much as he was paying for the install the appearance could easily have been addressed somehow. Just makes sense to me knowing the high quality and meticulous build of the car you received prior to any work done. And the person who owns it is well known for his expectations when work is done on his car. He has an open checkbook. Hate to be real but he's not nitpicking. He's the customer and you knew beforehand what his expectations were. If you claim you had reservations about taking this on then many on this forum wish you had not gone forward if you feel now Shawn isn't being realistic about his demands.

FORGE GTi-R adjustable wastegate

I have also seen factory new OEM ones for sale on Ebay and in the classifieds on several foums every few weeks. The forge might take a little longer to get here (@BenFenner. He bought one in recent history and the GTi-R is still viable everywhere in the world except here, so the aftermarket for instance is still booming with parts), but you can still get the OEM or Forge wastgate as far as my memory serves fairly easily.

Also, doesn't the HKS T28 actuator fit on the GTi-R bracket (or fit with minimal modifications)?? I know of three for sale right now local to me (and the guy has close to 10 for sale).

Or modify the SR20DET from the S chassis bracket and slap a new T28 or Garrett GT T2 actuator on there.

There are seemingly a multitude of ways to get a brand new actuator on the GTi-R turbo

My 2 cents.
